We always seem to hear about social media as a means to sell goods and services, such as mobile phones, apps, etc. But we never seem to hear much about it for those in the creative arts, such as authors, musicians, and artists. Although the goal of these creatives is to sell a product (be it book, album, etc), they are selling far more than the fruits of their labours. They are selling themselves as unique entities, thereby accumulating valuable social collateral that will remain with them well into the future.
